The Most Beautiful Ways to Address Your Greys

As a master beauty artist for 35 years, Collage Salon owner Brenda Brinkman has brought out the best in thousands of people in Alpharetta and beyond. While trends come and go, one beauty question has stood the test of time: Should I go grey or cover it up?

“As I have gotten older, so have my clientele,” Brenda says. “Seventy percent of my clientele is grey coverage. I want everyone to know that while we are aging, our hair can always be beautiful.”

A master colorist and color educator, Brenda has many options to customize how her guests can address greying hair. They range from full coverage to grey blending (adding more pepper to the salt) to embracing grey by enhancing it with subtle highlights or lowlights.

“I’m very experienced in this area and feel like I do an amazing job at making my clients’ hair look natural,” Brenda says. “I want them to be current and on-trend, while maintaining a look that suits their age.”

All hair needs dimension, so Brenda ensures her guests have a beautiful and rich base, with balayage or highlights to complement it. “Many women feel when they reach a certain age that they need to go all-over blonde,” she says. “But I believe you need to keep the base your natural color and then play up that color with lightening.”
